Thx for the suggestion -- but I've been there and done that a few years back on an '88 Formula. Swapped out the housing, axles, rear-end, etc. I think it's alot of work for not a whole lot of gain depending of course on your driving habits and driving terrain.

You might be surprised at what an aluminum drum setup can do.

thx,
Richard.

I would definately agree that it would be better than it's steel counterpart.

Is your car one of those G92/N10 cars with the rear drums? I've never understood why GM did that.

Yes according to the build sheet...

Yes it is one of those raer CDN only builds with G92/N10 and disk brake delete option. For some reason (what a drag) I did not get the usual aluminum driveshaft and aluminum drums (like my '88 had and it was a TBI car) that come with the the disk-brake delete.

So now I am shopping around for an aluminum shaft and drums as well as planning for sub-frames, Jacobs Ignition, 1.6rrs, headers.... etc, etc.

adious,
RP.

I talked to Paradise Alley -- anyone done biz with these guys before ? -- and they have a set for about $60 CDN which is comparable to the Ebay price (after extras). I called GM about a new set and they want $230 a piece (ha, ha)....

thx,
RP.
