I have a black gold 1984 ta with recaro seats. Didn't know there was a recaro ta made that year and later found out my car matched many of the requirments. Seats, color, decals (5.0.HO). So i though sweet a recaro. To my demise I got around to running the vin and rpos.. a recaro it is not.. Apparently it came from the factory Light Camel Titanium primary with Light camel titanium secondary color. (anyone have a pic of this color), with bucket seats and the LG4 .. Oh well.. my lookalike still looks good and runs nice ..

well it looks nice... im working on the fast thing.. currently LG4 with 750 holley, edelbrock preformer, headman hedders, custom 3" exhaust.. and females.. ive only had sex in it once..

havn't had the time yet.. I want to some tim ethis summer.. first things first.. I need to get this kickdown cable problem im having straightened out, as sitting around reving all day won't de me much good on the track..

 

whats wrong with the kick down cable?

 

Its ceased somewhere.. I bought the holley overdrive transmission braket and when I put it on I went to reset the kickdown cable but couldn't budge it.. the plastic toothed area stuck out and won't go back in neither will the cable itself. When I unhooked it off the carb I didn't retract at all it just sat out.. Im taking it in the Trany shop early next week to get the new cable on .. (Im fairly new at the car game and don't trust myself to change something I can't see)..

 

I changed the kickdown cable inmy Oldsmobile.... its not that hard, if the RWD tranny is similar, all you have to do is undo one bolt on the tranny, pull the cable out until you see the connection inside the tranny (should pull out enough so you can see what the cable hooks to in the tranny) then when you have the cable pulled out as much as it can go, grab some needle nose pliers and hold on to the piece that the cable hooks on to, in the tranny (if you don't hold on to it, it will fall down, and you willsee it no more) then simply hook the new cable on.
