Purchased a new CD player...

I just bought a new deck from 2001. It's a Sony CDXCA-750. I actually haven't bought it yet, it's on lay-a-way for a week. It was the last one they had. I looked on their website and they had it on sale for $249.99. I checked at the store and they had it at $279.99. When I mentioned their site they told me they would honour that price. I told them I would think about it, they then offered to sell it to me for $225.00. Done deal. I put $125 down and will pay the rest next week.It lists at $329.00 and has three preouts W/ sub controls and CD changer capabilities.Good enough for me.

Look's good,What are you running/going to run for speaker's? I had kicker 15's in my 79' chicken and loved them, before you pick out your sub's though you should figure out what kind of box you can live with. it take's quite a bit of space to work the bigger sub's to their capacity(not to mention a decent amp).
Just my 2 cent's SR

They also had the Sony Xplode 760 for $229.99. I am thinking about that with two 10" subs in a ported box.Not really sure about the speakers. I have the UQ7 option in the car (6 speaker system w/2-4.5"subs in the sail panel). I am not looking for a huge thunderous system, just a good quality sound.I will do a little at a time.First I needed a head unit that has expandability. I will replace the 4"x6"s with Alpines and then we will see.

Hey Kev, let me offer my advice here. First.. nice deck choice Second, as for subs, I would go for a 10" Rockford HX2, they handle gobs of power, and kick a$$. I would also recommend going for the rockford amp as well... very nice clean power.

Good stuff Kev. As for me parting with subs, hmmmm
I dunno really. As for now, you know i have the 2-10's in there, but when i get around to it, i may put my 2-12 inch RF's in there. I do have 4-8 inch Alpine, but i dunno if ya wanna go with that small. And beides they are kinda old as well. Never abused, but aged. Before u go tearing your dash apart to replacew your fronts, do all your other stuff 1st. You may not have to change them at all. Keep in mind, you will realy only be using them for fill. They may not sound that bad. As for your box, keep in mind that they suggest, im guessin here, cant remember exactly. About 2.5 - 3 cubic feet for 2 10 inch. As for a ported box, when u buy subs, ask them how the ones u buy work best ( ported or non) My 2 10s right now are in a completely sealed box. When i had my12 in. RF's in they were ported. Any how think about what ya wanna do, an lemme know. Ill probably see ya somewhere soon, try an help ya out a bit:lala:

Hey John I will see ya Tuesday, I'm in negotiations Monday. It had better be nice tomorrow, I just finished putting three coats of wax on my car and it looks great. Also ws going to mention that I was at KW Surplus and they have those car dusters that you see at car shows for $6 or $7.00. I am going to pick one up.
