Boys and Girls mark your calendars for Thirdgen Expo 2015!

What: Thirdgen Expo 2015. Third generation Camaro and Firebird gathering
When: May 23rd 2015 (Actual times TBD)
Where: Underground Autosports 18A Golf Center, Hoffman Estates, IL. 60169
Why: To gather together and share our love for all things Third Generation F-body!


We'd like everyone to come join us on May 23rd for a great time with great friends and great cars. This is going to be a relaxed event where everyone can come check out some of the coolest third generation f-bodys in the area at one of the nicest facilities around. One of our fellow members, Perry (prossi), has graciously offered to host us this year, learn more about the venue here. Underground Autosports

Additional event details:
-Show time is 9am-4pm.
-Entry fee is $10 per car if pre-registered. $15 day of show. The money is going towards trophies/prizes. Click Here to access the registration instructions.
-Show participants can vote on the top stock and top modified F-body at the show. 1st - 3rd places will be awarded
-There will be a food vendor on-site for food and drinks so bring your appetite! (alcohol is prohibited on-site)
-Chassis Dyno sessions will be available. $75 for 3 pulls.
-Heidt's will have a vendor booth set up to showcase the products they offer. They will have their 68 Camaro on site, as well as their IROC-Z test car. They have been developing an IRS setup for 82-92 F-bodies as well as a new front suspension setup. The goal is to have the prototype suspension setups on display during the Expo.
-UMI Performance is supporting our event this year and we couldn't be happier. They have donated some really cool stuff that will be given away during the Expo. Come to find out what they are!
-Ledfoot News will be on site giving magazines away and covering the event.
-Top Down Solutions is joining our growing list of vendors supporting the event this year. The Aftermarket Vendor forum is swamped with praise for Lon at TDS, and we are ecstatic he's stepped up to support the Expo. TDS is donating some fantastic items that will be given away during the event. Gotta attend to find out what they are!
-Hawks Third Generation is now on board to support the Expo as well! Bruce and the team are fantastic to work with, and we're honored that they've chosen to partner with us to support the event. Hawks has chosen to donate some items to be given away at the show, and if we can get enough people pre-registered, Bruce has agreed to drive up from South Carolina and attend the event himself, and bring some of his toys with him!

Any chance to get this to flow over to Sunday?

 

What works better for everyone? Sunday or Saturday? We've already started promoting it for the 23rd, but that would be a good thing to know, going forward.

Damnit! WHY MAY!!! I HATE WORK. They've blocked off the entire month of May and wont' tell us what weekend, or weekENDS will be working.

So much crap I want to do and its all in May apparently.

how much are you expecting admission prices to be? and when it gets closer estimated amounts would be great, but 3 hand a half hour drive seems worth it, barely any third gens in my area

 

We should have that worked out in the next couple of days. Shouldn't be very much. No one is looking to make a profit here.

 

Where in Indiana are you? A group of us will be driving over from the South Bend area. If that's on your way let me know, you're welcome to join us if you want.

any ideas for entry cost? I'd be willing to pay if it meant i got to dyno my Z.

 

I live in Lafayette and plan on going, wouldn't mind going to south bend just to cruise there with you guys. Keep me posted.

 

Entry costs will be minimal. Like I said earlier, we're not looking to make a profit. If we can make it free, then that's what we'll do. But figure $10 or less. We're planning on having a food vendor there, so you can eat what you want, whenever you want, and that's between you and the vendors.

As far as a dyno, I believe their are some sponsorship issues which prohibit us from discussing how that would or wouldn't work. Perhaps Jeremy or Perry can chime in here.

I will say this though. I've been contacted by a number of 3rd genners who have never been to any other 3rd gen only event, who have expressed interest in coming to this one. And we'll have some pretty exciting news to share in the next day or two. I think it's going to be fun!

 

I never had a chance to make it to thirteen fest but with all the negative I've heard in the last 6 months don't want to. That makes this event a good option for me.

The intent is not to compete with ThirdgenFest. Based on many of the latest developments with Thirdgen Ranch, we felt it was highly likely that ThirdgenFest will be bust this year. So we are picking up the ball and running with it to have a great event for the thirdgen community.

 

I wouldn't cross the street to go to Thirdgen Fest, but I wish I could go to this

so cool! just noticed this....and yes, i'm the guy having that wedding the weekend before this event!..Man it's going to be a busy month!...I hope i don't have my honey moon the following weekend as I would love to come to this event! Who knows what may happen in future years, but for 2015, Saturday is the only day of the event.
