How are runner lengths measured?

When you measure runner lengths, is it measured along the center? Is it an average? Just wondering where all these runner lenghts for different runners, bases, etc come from. I'll take any info I can on the subject.

Honestly i don't know if they are short side, or ideal center lengths. Center would probably be the idealized number to use though. If you're getting your numbers from the same source i'd hope they're all measured the same way though so at least the comaprison is valid.

I don't think it matters. If you average the inside and outside arc lenghts it should equal the center arc length.

The important issue is that they measure from the inside of the plenum hole to the back of the intake valve in all cases.
