Everyone with Holley Adj FPR inside please...
I noticed the holley does not have the little disc attached to a ball bearing that is pinched inside the bottom of the regulator. When I installed my Holley I can only get 25psi of pressure whereas my Accel FPR allows over 50. Am I missing a part or did I get a wrong part inside the Holley? Part # was 512-501.
I am sure I am installing the bottom part correctly, the cup side up to retain the spring, just as is shown in the instructions.

Sounds like its time to call Holley. It’s been to long sense I did my AFPR swap so I don’t remember the small parts. But my Holley is working great!
Maybe when you installed it you had the top screwed in too far...so when you go to increase the fuel pressure, you hit your limit too soon. I would try to reinstall it with the top part hitting the disc barely. hat will give you plenty of space to increase fuel pressure with.

BTW...Do you just have the SLP single inlet? How do you like it? Noticable gains? I'm leaning towards the SLP Cold Air vs a Homemade due to looks alone.

The only thing I can think of other than a bad part is this. My fuel pump is dying I think. Perhaps thats all the pressure it can muster with the Holley, though strange I can get a steady 35psi with the accel and over 50 when I jack the pressure up. However my needle jumps around quite a bit if the pressure is pushed above 35psi. I am waiting on a e-mail from Holley Tech.
I have the SLP dual cold air intake. I like it a lot. I had a pretty stout home made cold air but liked the finished look of the SLP better, plus I got it cheap (used).
Are you sure you got it in right. If I remember correctly the diaphram had a cup built into one side that went up. The spring rested inside the cup, another cup on top of the spring that the adjuster screw went on. It also had a little tit on the other side of the diaphram. HLY-512-501 is the PN on mine. Later

Yep, double checked the spring cup. I also had the adjustment **** cranked all the way down, trust me! And yep, same part number on my box.

I noticed the same diff. between the factory unit and the Holley FPR. But mine isn't having the problems you have with yours. The only thing I noticed diff. is that the fuel pressure will slowly bleed off in time and my factory unit didn't bleed off at all. I think the ball that is attached to the cup helps the cup swivel for a good seal allowing for no bleed by. The holley unit doesn't have that so as noted it doesn't have as good a seal allowing the fuel pressure to drop over time when the vehicle is shut off. Other than that and a little filing to get it to clear my clip for the fpr line I'd have to say it works great.

I'm not quite sure what's wrong with yours but even at it's "lowest" settting (when the disk hits the plenum), the fuel pressure will be at about 31-33psi. That's the LOWEST. I really think your problem is somewhere else and probably fuel pump/fuel filter related. The way you describe the FP as being eratic above 35psi just isn't right. The fuel pressure should be very smooth. Again, I really don't think the regulator is your problem.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I have to agree, it probably is FP related as my filter is pretty new. I always seem to get two problems at once
