Superram "cold start injector" emergency
Purchased a superram setup; base, plenum, runners and an 89/ 52mm BBK throttlebody.
Getting ready to put it on my 88 formula 350 and..............no hole in the runners for the cold start injector. I understand that the 89' later 3rd gens did away with this 9th injector and modifications were made to the prom so it would handle cold start issues.
My question. Can I just remove the Cold start injector and be on my merry way. Will my ECM throw a code...will I be stuck with fouled plugs next winter freezing to death under a snowbank (not likely as I'm in Northern California)?
I realize that i will probably have to abondon this hypertech chip and have a chip burned someday and omit the CSI function...but I have a motor getting ready to go in tomorrow and the mechanic is at a loss as to what he should do with this cold start injector hanging at the end of this fuel rail with nowhere to go!
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Have the mechanic plug the end of the fuel rail. The car will just be harder to start cold.
The cold start injector is controlled by a hardware timer, not the ECM.
Since the ECM is the same in '89 as in '88, I believe that in '89 the EPROM was simply programmed for cold start enrichment using the 8 injectors. In that case you can simply install an '89 CalPac or have your HyperTech reprogrammed.

I called the mechanic and told him to plug it up. He was sure to add that he would save all of the parts in case they had to go back on someday. Finally going to get this motor back in the car tomorrow!!!
Thanks!
Thanks!
