Timing Problem...Help..Miss/surge..w/in

OK Ill make this as short as possible...

I have a problem when trying to time my 87 GTA...355 vortech 15PSI...Ive replaced the ECM(SD SYSTEM NOW), Chip, UNDID all of the looms and checked all wiring. I bought a brand new MSD Pro Billet distributor, new coil...Ect ect..

Anyway I just added the distributor as a last STAB to fix the problem.... ANYWAY I put it in COLD....So I turned the distributor to where I knew it would be close and tightened it down... Then LEFT the ESC line plugged in While the car warmed up.... The car IDLED SMOOTH....Sounded good.....yet it seemed when I revved it the car had a miss...but I thought well My timing not yet being set its probaly out.... SO I let it warm up.....15 minutes later i TURN THE CAR OFF...Its warm by now so I unhook the ESC connector....

I restart the car and its SEARCHING badly....Down up down up die.... Then I turn the distributor to where at least it will stay running and its like SOOO far before that the pointer does not even register...Id say like 20 before....When Id bring it closer to 6 it would run like crap....BUT reguardless of where it was set the MISS was very bad.... It was like I was running on 3 cylinders...

My question is could a BAAD Plug or plug wires cause this??? I think not but Thats about all thats left to replace again.... Seems to me the computor compensates for whatever the problem is and allows the car to run better...But disconnected it just wont stay running... Any thoughts Ideas...

Diacom info shows pretty much normal.....Thats what makes it worse...

So you visably see the timing searching?

Are you running a 3 bar map?

You've gotta beable to calculate positive pressure instead of vacuum in the intake.

sorry not clear enough I guess...The TIMING does not search...Its the RPMS that search....So with computer ESC connected the idle is smooth as glass....Unplug the connector and it searches really bad.... Obviously as the idle spped drastically changes the timing follows suit as the mechanical advance part takes over... but like I said the esc hooked up the thing idles smooth and the miss is LESS at higher RPMS>...

Unplugged its like I have a REV LImiter on...

Yes I have to cause its just a 730 ECM..... But I would not be getting boost at idle....NOR when Im revving the car while its parked...

PLUS to add to this I had the same problem before I switched to MAP...My MAF system did the same BS...

Maybe a simple vacuum leak?

have you checked for a dead cylinder?

Well vacuum leak could be possible But Ive found nothing.... Dead cylinder is what Im sort of suspecting...BUT Im confused as to how the computor would smooth that out...My power has been waaayyy off....I think its a dead plug or a faulty wire....But am leary of it because i DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THE COMPUTER CAN SMOOTH IT OUT SO MUCH...
