I could probably be more help if there was specific pair you're looking for....

As far as GM heads this site has the best pick:
www.sallee-chevrolet.com

Then for AFR's there's a few GP's (but you gotta wait)

There are some other sites..

I dont know about remans tho..

heres what i think

Check ebay, check local shops and get their advice, also take your time and do it right and put it in a car that has the frame and suspension to handle the more power, unlike your T/A

Ahh ok.

Well anyways is there a specific head you're targeting (the way it should be)

You shouldn't just look for a cheap head, you should be finding the ones that suit what you need, and pick from them.

Ahh ok.

yeah actually....i havent really narrowed it down yet but.... sportsman 2's seem to be a great deal along with dart iron eagles. also saw some trick flow twist wedge g2's and the vortec's..... if i cant find anything like these i'll go with the aluminum vette's cuz those are a great deal also and i could possibly have money for porting too!

Forget about the trick flows, they're not *bad* but htey're not worth the money. You also need their rockers.

Between dart and sportsman go with dart.
Vortecs are nice but you need the base.

Be a man and port them yourself

hahaha.... yeah, i've heard to go with the darts. the guy at the engine shop by me said the stock ports are much cleaner and will flow better. should i go with the 180's or 200cc's if i go with them? i'm going with the lt4 hotcam i believe....

on the vortech side....if i can get the heads cheap enough i wouldn't mind purchasing the base for $400 but i doubt i'll be able to get a set of vortec's anywhere for $400 a pair so.....

i will be porting my intake manifold myself....i have siamesed slp runners now....should i also siamese the base or just port it out a bit?? i heard you lose a lot of low end on the siamesed but with that cam it might work good...

You dont lose alot, you create a much more useable power range.

I'd go with the 180cc's if you're going to port, if you start at 200cc's and port them then you're at 210, the range you should be at with a built 400 sbc

If you wanna go over some things join the chat (link off the main page) and i can tell you my experience, especially with Sportsman II's
