I'm thinking either the timing chain or the distrbibutor is severly misturned??it has a new rust free gas tank and fuel pump,it is an 86 tpi and it shoots out some blue smoke when it starts up any ideas,I plan on getting it fixed with new valve guides and seals as soon as I get my next paycheck been outta work for 2 months,any opions,it also has a new maf sensor too??????

 

If the problem started after you put in the new tank and pump, it
may be the pulsator between the pump and the sending unit.
The plastic thing with the master cylinder looking cap on it.
Whenever you replace the pump you are supposed to replace it
also. I found out the hard way, they tend to leak after you mess
with them. They will puke the gas back into the tank past the O
rings. Check your fuel pressure, if it is low I would bet that's the
culprit.

 

Deffinatly sounds like severe fuel starvation if you're not getting any codes.
