350 TPI Question
350 TPI Question
I have an 89 Formula 350 with a rebuilt L98 engine/transmission in it. it's got a bit over 2000 miles on the rebuild and 100xxx on the chassis. curreently it's at 260 HP at the fly and 340 ft. lbs of torque and it's got a 2500 stall converter and a 3.27 rear and 3" flowmaster. what engine mods (cams, heads, breathing) can I do to it to get it around 1 HP per cubic inch (around 350 HP). I'm looking for the best bang for the buck, I've got 1K to spend on parts here. any suggestions would be helpful. I also need something that I would have compatability with a supercharger which I intend to get later on down the road. thanx
You're not so far off if you're talking flywheel numbers in the end.
Get a cam and maybe port your heads, siamese the base, and drop on some siamesed SLP runners and you'll be close
get some cheap 1 5/8ths headers too
welcome aboard

Where do you want your powerband to be? If you want to keep it the same as it is now, then heads and cam would be your best bet. (I have ~340 FWHP right now with the stock intake, see sig) But if you want to move your powerband up in the RPM range some more (like most people want to do) then I would say get the Stealthram and a cam, it should get you over 300 at least, and when you do finally add heads it should really jump up.
