O2 not hooked up and no codes?? is my car possesed by another gremlin?

I have been tracing a charging problem and happened to run across a wire that looked a lot like my O2 plug when I did the initial install I had (or thought I did) ran a wire from the O2 to the computer, so I checked this wire for continuity to the plug on the ECM, sure enough it does go there, so I checked my O2 to the plug to see if I had just tapped into it somewhere, and nothing, strange thing is, I havent gotten any rich/lean codes, and when I have my X-ray hooked up it will fluctuate from rich/lean like its supposed to,
is my car possesed? or is there something else that would cause the computer to give a rich/lean reading?

Who ya gunna call...

:lala: Ghost busters! :lala:

Rich/lean before it gets to the ecm is simply a matter of resistance. A dangling wire could provide this resistance possibly, however if you were getting 120-130 BLM's, then say hi to casper for me.

I thought possible grounding to the vehicle but it showed no ammount of resistance other than an open circuit on my DVM so who knows Im stumped and its been wired like this for 4+ years?? strange I guess. Ill have to see what it reads now that I know for sure it is hooked up

I unplugged the O2 sensor on my ZZ4TPI awhile back while T/S a problem. It took the car like 200 miles to finally spring a code!

I have the same condition on my 89 setup. The car was previously hacked before I pulled it and put it in my 86. never could find that damn wire-and it never has before or since set a code--always get a code 12. BTW--it does run cool too.
