I HAVE A QUESTION GUYS, WILL A MINI STARTER THAT CAME FACTORY ON A NEW MODEL LT-1 WORK ON MY L-98 BLOCK (1989 IROC 5.7 AUTO). I AM GOING TO TRY TO ATTCH A LINK TO TURBOBUICKS.COM WHERE THEY HAVE THEM FOR SALE FOR $125 WITH NO SHIPPING !!!!!!
WILL THIS STARTER WORK !!!!

I think the flexplate/flywheel is different on an Lt1

*think*


So thus the starter probably wont work.


I could be wrong, someone whos played with the newer toys might be able to follow up

Yep it works. Im running a 94 LT1 starter on my 92 L98, no shims no nothing. Direct bolt on. Its a better starter too. Its way smaller than the O.E. L98 starter and the LT1 starter is made to turn over a 10.5 to 1 engine and the bigger bulker L98 starter is made to turn over a 9.3 to 1 L98. The chioce here is clear in my opinon.

yes. an 89 305 5-speed starter is working on a LT1/T56 flywheel in my car with no problems.
