I got my Edelbrock big-mouth manifold for a couple of bills on CZ28.com - I bought it along with a SuperRam that had been port matched with it. There is NO need to go brand new. Just look around for the Edelbrock or Accel base on ebay and in the "For Sale" boards on all the Fbod sites. You might want to check the Corvette forums too - the early C4s were TPI cars. As for a cam? I can't help you there. I needed help myself on cam selection.

Around here everybody seems to like the edelbrock because it's cheapest and they say they all flow the same. On the Corvette Forum, all of them swear by the accel intakes. I decided to go with the accel as well. There are a lot more 12 and 11 second cars over there, and since a lot of those guys are older, I felt that they would have had more long term experience with TPI. Anyway, I bought my accel base from Rich at www.cruzinperformance.com, who also came highly reccomended from the corvette forum guys. I'm quite happy with the build quality of base so far, except that it irks me that they used a different thread pitch for the egr bolts, and didn't include long enough bolts.

I'm using the SLP runners with the base, and I did have a little interference due to the base not having a large enough machined surface for the runners to fit flush. 5 minutes with a dremmel fixed that problem though. Overall everything fit together nicely.
