Airfoil question and sticky throttle

Is it worth it to buy an airfoil or whats the deal, and is it a pain to install or is it easy. I have and 85 ta and the throttle sticks just after idle. When you press down on it it is a little hard then it is perfect. When the car is off their is no problem. I dont understand. Does anyone know how to get rid of the stick throttle.

The airfoil is pretty easy to install , did mine in about 30 minutes , but did not notice much difference for $60 . I have read that you dont really notice a difference until you have a few mods . I am getting ready to install headers and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and port out my plenum , so it should help me out there ,of course I will never know because I'm not going to take it out with the mods , test it and then reinstall it ! I wish I had time to do such things ! As far as the throttle sticking , have you tried carb cleaner on all of the external linkage parts?,also try Throttle Body Cleaner on the inside of the throttle body , NOT carb cleaner , disconnect the rubber or plastic that is attached to the TPI in the front to where you can see the two circles (butterflies) and with the engine off soak them suckers with the Throttle Body Cleaner , open them manually with the linkage and spray all over them , especially where they are attached to the TPI . You will see a lot of brown crap coming out , you might even want to get two cans it is only like $3 or$4 a can . Also soak the external linkage while working it back and forth . It will take a few cranks to get it started after all of this but just give it a lot of gas .

Air foil took me 10 mins to install and I did notice a more responsive throttle. It is supposed to improve your cfm's up about 44 cfm. I agree with the soaking part to clean out the linkages.

The airfoil took me about 5 minutes to put in.....but i wouldn't recommend spending $60 on one untill you have more airflow mods. As far as the sticking throttle.....try cleaning ur TB like they said, and make sure your TV cable is adjusted correctly....

Yes I did notice better throttle response but it did not change my e.t. at the track and I was racing like every weekend at the time . I was expecting it to drop a couple of tenths . I guess the reason it took me 30 minutes to install mine is because I didnt have any threadlocker that they suggested to use and I had to go across the street and get some from a friend of mine and B.S. for about 10 minutes. On another note,my headers and AFPR arrived today I cant wait to get this stuff on ! I think before I put the whole exhaust on I am going to take it to the track with the open headers and fuel pressure set at 50 with my slicks and skinnies on centerlines up front . My best time so far is 14.4 with manifolds, smog pump, street tires.Getting way off of the subject,I'll just shut up now.LOL
