Find me at a car show, and I'm the guy being impressed by talent, not check writting or eye candy.

Wow, Something Me and Grumpy can Agree On

I do agree, that what was "accomplished" Here appears to be alot of Check writing and That being considerd, Not incredibly impressive.

No Expense was spared, Yet only a Total Yeild of 480 FWHP out of a Big Inch SBC? Local Guy here Running 11 flats n/a With his 396 LT1, With Stock ECM and Garage Tuned. Same amount of "Smog Legality." I promise you He didnt Spend Anywhere Near as much as These Guys did On their setup, or at least as much as we would have too to duplicate this setup.

Not to Mention the "Totally Smog legal" Bit is a Stretch to Say the least.

Is it a Cool Car? No Doubt!

Is it some sort of marvel of ingenuity and an reflection of the expertise of its owners ?

Questionable.

Wow, this thread turned into quite the **** slinging flame fest. No wonder Johnny never posts here.

You know, whether or not some of us agree with the path that Magnum TPI has taken, and whether some of us are capable of doing a better job, if we sit there and ask the right questions instead of instantly proclaiming the car a ****-bucket and screaming about how poorly they did it, maybe we could all learn something. Maybe that car isn't what it should be, maybe it is. Point is, I'm interrested in finding out what equipment they used, how it works together, and what their results are. I don't give a **** if Johnny turned the wrenches or if a mechanic did it. I don't care if the car exceeded horsepower expectations or came up short (again). There's just as much to learn from somebody that falls short of expectations than exceeds them, and hopefully Johnny will put on his flame suit and continue to describe this buildup for those of us that want to learn from it.

I couldnt agree More.

Except, What are we to Learn from this? That with an aftermarket DFI most of us Cannot afford, Some Professional Dyno Tunning, A Whole list Of Expensive Go Fast Goodies, On a Big inch SBC, We can Get Some rather Unexciting HP Numbers ?

The Description of this build is about as Useful to me in Real-world application As a buildup of a Nitro Big Block. Sure its a cool engine, But its completely Detached from anything I am ever Going to Do.

And IMO the Rags are already too Full of these kinda Big Dollar Low output "if i could i would" Builds.

But, That IS just my opinion.

I did think the MAF thing was incredibly interesting tho.

Why did you have to go and do that.....

This thread is only going to continue to be a problem, I think everybody got what they had to say off their chest.

Johnny my apologies for any negative comments about your work. I dont necissarily agree, yet dont feel its my responsibility to attack you for your personal and your companies efforts, you're doing your job, thats that.

Feel free to start a new thread, this one just isn't working out.
