Stealth Ram or High flow TPI?
Hey,
I'm still trying to figure out what kind of combo of intake i should use for my ZZ4 crate engine that i wll be putting in hopefully in 2 weeks....should i just get a high flow base, runners, and a 52mm TB for the ZZ4, or should i invest in the holley stealth ram?....another quetsion....i have a hotchkis Strut Tower brace on my Camaro...will the stealth ram fit under this...is there anyway to make it fit under?......or will i have to take it off in order for it to fit? Thank you...i appreciate the help!

I doubt the stb will fit with over the stealth ram. I'm sure the stealth ram would be better than an aftermarket ltr setup, especially hp/$ wise. The cost of just the base and runners would probably exceed the total investment for the stealth ram.

There is the LT1 intake too. Then you can have your HP and your STB. The LT1 is very similar in HP charateristics to a Miniram (at a cheaper price). A friend of mine (before he made further mods) started with a ZZ4 with a Miniram and it was a great setup.
Further porting of the heads and a different cam and he had a high 12 second car.

This is a topic I have been debating also. Would a fully ported TPI, I am talking extrude honed/or siamesed base, Siamesed runners and port matched Upper plenum TPI flow even close to an LT1 intake or Stealth Ram?

Thanks for the ideas......if i were to go with te LT1 setup....how do i modify it to fit on the ZZ4 or will it just bolt up no problem....I have a 87 Z28 Camaro that the ZZ4 will be going into....of that helps with anything.....Also, do they already sell a LT1 intake, fuel rails, TB, Fuel lines to work with a Gen 1 SBC.....like the ZZ4....or will i have to do this all myself?....Thanks

It wont bolt up, and the stock LT1 takes a lot of modifying.
Check out www.lt1intake.com, you can buy pre-modified set-ups there that will bolt rite on, mine is arriving UPS today.
