cam for votec heads?

I have an86 iroc 305tpi getting vortec heads and intake. wondering what cam to get that will go with those heads intake stroker kit and supercharger, maybe a zz9 cam, iwould appreciate any suggestions. they advertise a max lift of .450" on the vortec heads, can i get more lift or do i even need to? I want the car to be for the track and weekend driver.

are you planning on keeping the tpi if you are i think those vortec heads will not fit but the cam for that would be a comp cam 212/218 449 /456 112 lsa i just ordered the cam for my 86 305 tpi should give you quite the power .

Yea be sure you keep in mind the "Spechul" scoogin tpi intake you need to buy. By the time you buy it and the vortecs, you could have bought a "normal" set of performance heads.

He said that he is going to get the intake as well as the heads. I would say that the zz9 would be a good choice for that setup.

Doh, sorry I spaced it

ZZ9 or hotcam are both good, I dont know the limits of the vortec heads as far as machining for more lift, but in most scenerios you can do so.
