Hot cam & 6085 heads

I currently have a very mild cam (208/214* 467/482" 112*) in my new 350TPI. I'd like to switch to a LT4 Hot cam instead. I currently have Edelbrock Performer 6085 "centerbolt" heads on the 350. According to Edelbrock's head specs, the max valve lift is .575". With 1.6 LT4 rockers and the Hot cam, I'd be at .525".

Basically, I'm asking if my 6085 heads will accept the hot cam without needing new springs and other stuff. Anyone have this combo? Also, how much power should I expect to pick up by switching to the hot cam?

I'd think you'd be ok, but it'd depend on how many miles on the springs, you'll need to check the spring pressures. As for an increase, maybe 20 or 30 after retuning?

Yes, the heads will accept it fine. I'm running the Edelbrock springs on mine. As for a power gain, I couldn't really tell you. I did too much to mine at once to wager a guess.

Question...I asked SDPC tech about the setup and they said I'd need GM rocker studs for use without guidplates. I am currently using GM LT4 1.6 roller rockers without guideplates. I haven't had any problems yet without guideplates, so what should I do??
