I have to embarassingly admit mine is floating next to the IAC control until I do a CAI. Yes, you should be able to plug the old one where the 4'th gen one goes. I'd say they are the same, but I'm not sure.

WTF?
I already have that stuff. I was asking if maybe I could just plug in my MAT sensor plug into the 4th gen one in the elbow. Does Anyone know if the 3rd gen and 4th gen send the same signals?

Yup. The only difference is the connector is keyed backwards. It still fits in, just doesn't use the clip, but it fits tight so no worries.
The 4th gen piece is actually more desirable as it has a more responsive element than the CTS type used in thirdgens.
