hangin' it up
last night my girl and i drove back to ny from michigan....on the way i noticed my throttle hangs really bad...the same thing was going on when i set my iac for minimum air...i cleaned otu the tb cuz there was alot of carbon on the seat were the blades rest...solved that....about 300 miles in the throttle started hangin...id be cruisin at 2500 rpm and let off the gas and it wouldnt slow down id blip the throttle real fast and it would unhang and start slowin down....when i pullled off the freeway to get som go-go juice i pushed the clutch in and the revs wentn up from 2500 to 3 grand and stayed there untill i bliped the throttle then is came doewn to the 725 set idle....when id accelerate in any gear and lift to shift the rpms would stay at the rpm i pushed the clutch in at.....this morning i made sure the the tb blades were closing all the way when i bliped the throttle and they did...with the car off i was messin with the blades on the tb and when i close them i feel a good bit of resistance so i know its the cable
my question is how do i take out the throttle cable to lube it up and how much is a new one incase its stretched or something
i see where is goes through the firewall but how do i disconnect it from the bottom of the gas pedal... and is it hard to do??

I replaced mine( I had to when I swapped to TPI) and it was about 15 bucks from the dealer. It's easy to swap, it just needs a little "looking at." There's a retainer on the pedal lever, and there's two tabs that hold it in the firewall. Then there's the clip on the TB. If you look at the new one, it'll be pretty self explanitory.
