How high is it safe to rev a l98. I might be switching to an lt1 intake, but am afraid the peak hp would be higher than it is safe to take my engine.

 

I wouldn't push to far beyond 5,500

 

Yikes! I've been shifting at 5800 at the track. I defenatly think the lt1 intake would push my hp peak above 6000rpm w/ the other mods. Maybe I sould wait till I get a stronger bottom end. Is anybody else shifting higher on the stock bottom end?

 

talk to traxion(tim) he has a stock bottom end that is gonna be in the 11's soon. im pretty sure his shift points are like 6500...
