Does anyone have an accel superram intake on their tpi car? I was just wondering what intake to get and so far i like the accel the best but i dont want to waste my money if it doesnt perform well.

The Accel Superram is the more or less the best intake you can get if you are sticking to Tuned Port and not swtiching to LT1 intake or Holley StealthRam.

However, the complete Superram will bog even your 350 down because it is not modded and does not need that much air. You would be much better off spending that $3000 on good set of heads and cam. Then, port your base, plenum and runners (which would be pennies if you do it yourself).

If you are planning on getting a hot motor later on, then you could slide with the Superram now, but it doesn't make much sense and is overkill to the fullest extent on a stock motor.

You're better off spending the money on some heads and cam. You can modify the stock tpi unit, check out the siamease tpi intake in the techincal articles. That will definetely wake the car up.

I agree, I'd get heads and a cam first. Then the SuperRam. Or save up and do it all at once and get a good matched combo. The SuperRam is a great intake, but on a stock or close to stock motor, probably won't make much difference.

The good:
1.flows much better than stock.
2. Gives much more top end power w/o sacrificing too much low end.
3. Broad tq curve works great with 700r4
The bad:
1.Looks like a tranny pan on top of your engine.
2. Doesn't give as much peak hp as lt1 or miniram.
3. Pain in the *** to put on

I'd say go with the lt1 intake. Its 1/3 of the price, and performs great.

Darcom, is the z28 or the viper faster?

Here is how much a nice combo with the superram can wake up your TPI.

Here is a before/after Dyno chart of my '87 Corvette with a Superram/219 cam package also with some new heads and exhaust.

At the wheels...

Stock: 211hp / 315
Mod: 322hp / 362 (not tuned)

We had yet to tune the ECM at that point. Here is the crappy A/F

The car was running MEGA rich down low, so there is a major lack of power below 3500 right now.
