vortec heads??
vortec heads??
has anyone bolted a tpi to a set of vortec heads? Is it possible? I've got the motor and heads are cheap(239 through jegs) and i still want to bolt up the tpi. I've got the machine shop s maybe they can. I'm just wondering if it's reasonable.

Yes it's been done. You will need the Vortec base from Scoggin-Dickey for about $400. Another note the valve springs are only good to about .460 lift, much more than that & you will need to upgrade the springs. That low price gets higher real fast.
i'm not too worried about springs..it's more the intake..is there any way for a machine shop to modify the stock one?..these guys are good...mayb you've heard of 'em...FAST TIMES MOTORWORKS. they built a buddies motor and a few other drag motors...if it could be done they can do it...it may be easier that way...what do you think...feasible or a waste of time?

Why re-invent the wheel?
When you have an intake available thats been developed thru research and development and is known to be a bolt on part, why pay someone to make yours work? Not to mention it doesn't have much room for porting...
Pay the $400 for the SD intake and be done with it. Or you could go witha Ramjet intake that will bolt right on and cost a little more.
