Leaking header cause stumbling???

Well after being very frustrated with this car lately I noticed that my driver's side header flange looks like its bent out in between the 2 exhaust ports. I also noticed alittle black sut there on the header. Like its leaking. Could this be causing all my driveability problems? The car is leaning out in a spot or so and just running like total crap. Just wondering if its sucking air into the header there and then the o2 is getting a false lean condition? Anyone? Thanks!

a leaky header on the side with the O2 sensor could definately cause problems by sucking fresh air into the exhaust. I would think that extra air going into the exhaust would make the ECU think it was running lean and therefor richen the mixture.

This could definately cause drivability problems though

Yeah, thats what I was hoping. Guess I'll have to fix that and see if that cures the problem. Anyone else have any thoughts??? Thanks!
