Upgrading injectors, too big = bad?
So I've got my engine together and I found out I have a leaky injector and it filled cylinder 6 with gas and put it in hydrostatic lock.. So I pulled the spark plug and raw gas ran out as I figured and pulling the injector and pressurizing the system gave a steady stream of gas out #6. SO... I plan to upgrade my injectors while I need to replace them..
I'm currently looking at the LS1 26# injectors. I currently have 19# injectors.. Will upgrading my injectors need a new PROM burned or will the engine adapt to the injectors? I realize that during anything but WOT, the computer will adjust the pulse width accordingly.. But during closed loop and WOT, the computer won't be able to compensate for the larger injectors, right?
Please let me know if you've done this and if you've got an answer for me. Thanks..

If I recall correctly, increasing the fuel pressure approx. 4psi gives the injector around 1 lb more on its flow rating. Going from a 19lb injector to a 22lb injector would be about equivalent to running 52 psi fuel pressure with the stock injectors. That in my book is doable. It won't be ideal as far as open loop part throttle is concerned, but your combo will probably like it at WOT.

Going to 22s from 19s represents over a 15% increase in fuel. Assuming everything is perfect, your ECM can compensate for just over a 15% increase in fuel at part throttle. During open loop you'll just run pig rich.
You have a few k in go fast goodies, why not time to think about looking at the chip.
