Chasing Code 33
Chasing Code 33
And No, its not kevin Smiths next film.
Mystery Code 33. Replaced MAF w/ new one, Code still exists.
Car Drives Fine.
Turned MAF threshold to MAX in PROM and still Codes.
Will a nonfunctioning burnoff relay cause code 33 ?
Any other ideas ?
Thanks.

Boys! BOYS! Let's play nice....
Bort,
Are you for real, or just pulling our chains? (Really have a DTC 33?)
Looking at your profile and signature, I have some other questions:
Do you live between the little dots, or just spend most of your recreation time there?
Yes, the board has a SEARCH function, but it can be more fun calling people "Assclowns"...
I'm not a metric kind of guy and I'm not sure about 48mm, so I'll give you the S.A.E. version: The truth is, 3" is big enough, but some girls don't like them that wide.
Is ICON alive and well again? Most links I find to the site are invalid.
A '33' can be the result of an attempt to remove the MAF screens and not considering airflow laminations tending to follow the path of least resistance around turns and obstructions. The metered air rate may not be a true representation of what is flowing outside the sensing tube in the MAF housing. As suggested, a low TPS can contribute.

Stock or modified MAF?
Stock or modified engine? And SplitFires and seat foam air filters dont count, ok?
Its probably TPS related, or one of a whole myriad of things. #2 suspect is bad wiring. #3 is relays. #4 is things like vacuum leaks, stuck valves (PCV, EGR). #last is a bad MAF sensor.
I have a 2 page printout of what can set off a code 33. I typed it once years ago, dont feel much like typing it again unless you cant find it by using the SEARCH feature.

As far as the excessive metered air, any info on the MAF?
