This is what I would like to have under the hood of my 87 5.7 IROC. Take the current L98 and rebuild it with fordged crank and rods, hypertutectic pistons .030 over for a nice clean bore. All balanced and clearanced with a fluid dampner so 6500 rpm won't be no problem. LT4 hot cam feeding AFR 190's toped off with an edelbrock base siamesed to about 2" of runner with stock runners for that stock apperance. Then convert it to sequencial injection useing LT4 programing from a forth gen ECM. With the rest of the drivetrain matched to it I thik it would go and go fast.

...bench racing...

Guess this is where another pre-schooler jumps in with a 150 shot of NAAAHHHHSSSSS and his is faster than yours, then another one with a twin-turbo, etc.

How do you plan on doing this. You can't put a forthgen computer in a thirdgen (the distributor in a 4'th gen is totally different). Your car is going to stay batch fire unless you buy an aftermarket ECM.

A sequencial conversion would be the last thing I do. I Think I could look into an aftermarket cam sensor and mount some coil packs where the disy used to be and get a fourth gen ECM to run it. I have heard of it being done.
