I'm thinking about a cam and possibly finding some L98 heads for the 305 to get me through a couple summers until I can afford to get my stroker done. I'm planning full exhaust, which will hopefully include Hooker supercomps if I can work something out for a y-pipe, because I don't really want to pay mufflex $250 for theirs. I'm thinking maybe a cam, something like SLP's cams that "will work with stock tuning." Going on the idea that SD is more sensitive to changes then MAF, I'm curious how much I could change on the motor and still run well on stock tuning. The thought of L98 heads has also crossed my mind since they have the same size combustion chambers as I currently have, compression won't change. Would the computer be happy with them? How about if I ported them some? What about intake mods?

L98 heads are 64cc your 305 heads are 58cc so there is a difference unless you are talking about L98 Corvette aluminum heads.. but I have put headers, underdrive pulleys and free mods.
Too my car running a stock chip and it made 228RWHP for a 305.
So mod it up.. trust me it can handle it... I have heard of a guy running a ZZ4 cam in a 350 with L98 vette heads getting 280RWHP out of his stock chip... The gm chip is a good chip.. all the other stuff out there is garbage!! I do, do some chip burning and I have learned the the gm chip is pretty good..
