How do I determine what size fuel injector I have?
How do I determine what size fuel injector I have?
As some of you may know, I recently got a good deal on an '86 Trans-am. Now, the previous owner insisted it was a 305 converted to a 350 TPI, but I'm not so sure.
How would I identify what rating fuel injectors I have? I know Fords do it by colors, does GM do it the same way? If so, what colors correspond to which size injector?

maybe an engine swap is what the guy spoke of?
the only way to be sure it is a 350, is to get the block casting# and a head casting #. as stated all 305's come with 19lbs injectors. get the part # off an injector and post it here. some one can chime in with the answer. Supreme Member

people mistakingly use the word converted for the word swapped.
i don't know why?
i too call bs unless he get's some casting #'s. people like to say yeah it was "converted" to a 350 to sell it for a little more. yet a 305 still lays in between the fenderwells.

Sorry, I meant to write "swaped for" and not "converted". I know originally it was a TBI from the vacuum diagram on the hood and by putting the VIN on the carfax website. I'm sorry I just got a little confused.
The injector ID # is 5235047 (taken off the top ledge of the injector itself) If anybody knows what size this is, please post.
Since I know something has been changed, I'm trying to findout what it was changed to.
Thanks....Sorry about the mix-up up there.

Well, IF it was swapped to a 350 you are running the following.
1985, 305, A/C Delco, 19# FI which is your #523507 and the GM
P/N 17110872, also they were made by Lucas. I still think the seller was giving you (BS).
