LTR track times inside
Went to Rockingham dragway and ran a couple times this past weekend. Weather was in the 60's with some slight wind. My car is a 86 Iroc with 355, AFR 195 heads, 224/230 Xtreme grind/Long tubes, Ported Edelbrock base and SLP runners, 3.73 gears, 3000 Coan convereter, and 24 lb injectors with a Walbro in-tank pump. FP is at 48 psi and the chip is factory minus a injector number change. Set on 26lbs and some slight lower VE table work. It is also switched to SD.
So first and second run are here. Third run something in the rearend went out
.
1st Run 2nd Run
RT .543 .461
60' 1.820 1.794
330' 5.183 5.178
1/8 8.041 8.033
MPH 86.20 86.24
1000 10.504 10.494
1/4 12.593 12.583
MPH 107.37 107.27
These runs were with Nittos and still spinning. The last run tire pressure was lower and a better burnout, I think the run would have been better. I did not change timing, fp, or programming because of breaking in the third run when datamaster was hooked up. I need tuning, and I think my goal of 11's is withen reach. This was the cars first time to the track with the combo.

Nice work!! As for a suggestion, what about going down to maybe 3.07 or 3.33 gearing? I have only seen 3.73 gears hurt a LTR TPI car. What RPM/gear are you crossing the traps at right now? It might help you hold out one gear lower longer give you a slight longer time with some better torque mutiplication.
The mustang theory of gears = faster just doesn't seem to work on these babies.
I've been battling whether to stick with my 3.07s or to step up to some 3.90s for a while now, but proof is showing to stick with the 3.07s and at the very most if I have to slide up to 3.42s.

Nice numbers. You had motor pics up a few months back didn't you??? GREAT LTR #'s though! I think 11's are definately within reach!

12.5 on those 60's isn't too bad at all. You've got at least 2 tenths to make up on your shorts, and like you said you'll be knockin on 11s.
Other than that, i'd expect a few more mph out of that combo. Might need to work the runners over some more, might need more gear, might need more tuning. Or some combination. You definitely don't want less gear with that cam, heads and headers though IMO. Tall gears are ok for true LTR cars with LTR cams and small street heads, this combo is not in that mold. I'd let the combo spin and open the intake up to keep it fed.

Thanks everyone. Getting great advice. I have a custom dual exhaust set up that I have on the car and yes my motor pics were up a couple of months ago. Now I get to tear the rearend apart again and maybe I can get back to the track in a couple of weeks. And Ed it is still a stock tune with a change to the injector constant. It needs a lot of tuning.
Thanks everyone
