TPI Intake question

I have an 88 Iroc with a 305 TPI. I plan on installing a L98 motor from 87 or newer IROC or a 350 4 bolt main from a heavy duty van (from a 87 or newer). Both motors have the 1 piece seal. My question is about the intake - I hear that the center intake bolts are at 72 degree angle on the 87-92 L98, but what about other 350's from the same era?

Is the center bolt heads the clue to the 72 degree angle?

The van motor has center bolt heads as well.

Here are the block and head numbers from the van motor?

Block: 14093638...350...87-95...2 or 4 bolt main...Roller or flat tappet cam one-piece rear seal.

Heads: 14102191...1986-88...350 1.94 1.5001 - EFI, swirl port

Is my 305 TPI intake the 72 degree type?

Thanks, Mike Jones

Yeah, All 87+ Non Vortec SBC heads will work fine w/ the TPI intake.

Well, except the Corvette L98 heads.

Those are on the pre 87 boltpattern.

The aluminum L98 heads use the old style bolt pattern. They won fit a Camaro TPI w/o modification.

the Modification is trivial, however.

Trivial exactly. If you aren't a moron and you have a die-grinder or a really good drill you can make the intake work with. It's easy... I did it
