'88-'89 305 M5 already has the 'big' cam...

Just so you know (not sure what year 305 you have), the '88-'89 305 TPI 5-speed cars got the L98 cam of that year, which is the biggest roller grind GM has used in any production 350 to date, (207/213). Its a more aggressive grind than even the LT1 (203/210), FYI.

In my 87 Z I did the swap and dropped from a 15.5 @ 86mph to a 14.6 @ 93-94 mph. I have an LT1 cam out of a 1996 Impala SS. Specs are in my sig. I am with headers and other mods running 14.0 @ 96 mph.

Wasn't the LT1 cam different from the Impala SS to the F/Y-body cars?

Yes the f-bodys got one, Y-bodys got another, and B-bodys got one of thier own 2. Vader has a great list of them what each car got in which year.

How much was it to install or did u do it urslef. Did u have to buy and new parts or did u just pop it in there and she was done. I want to hear the details.

seems to me that the 92 Y LT-1 cam is the biggest of the LT1 cams.
