quickest way to remove tpi engine?

alright, i've got a 92 Z that i need to remove the engine and i need to do it rather quickly. what's the best way to do this knowing that no wires are to be kept and the car is laying on it's frame.

is it possible like this, could it be done in say less than an hour.......?

If you don't need to keep anything, i would say it would be close to an hour! If like you said, you have the right tools. Just cut everything you possibly can and undo the motor mounts and you should be good to go. Oh yeah, take off the tranny or take it out with the car, its up to you. You won't need to be careful and you will not need to label anything so it should be pretty simple and straight foward! What are you doing, planning on stealing a tpi car soon? j/k

If it is sitting on the frame as you said it will make the tranny a real pain to unhook. I would guess more on the order of 2-3 hours.

Any particular reason you have to remove the motor in under an hour, and not care how you do it???

Remove the two motor mounts, remove the distributor.

Remove the tranny cooler lines and fuel lines, cut all the wires.

unlatch the transmission mount and shift linkage, and pull.

Should come right out. Im pretty sure I could do it in an hour with the right friend.

Take the tranny out once you have it out, or just take it with ya.

I won't tell

one car the harness is gone and not the engine??

second one the harness is completely hacked up along with the rest of the main lines connecting the pieces. afterall the car is laying on it's frame with nothing but a frame and the driveline.

Three words:

Twenty-four Volt Sawzall

Unless you have access to power. Then it's

110V Sawzall

It is in a junkyard or something isn't it?

There is that...

We Removed the engine from my Wrecked Firebird, AND installed it in my friends Corvette AND got it runnin all in 5 hours. haha.

That Included Cutting the front sheetmetal off at the Firewall With a Sawzall. (It was wrapped around the engine)

If it is laying on the ground, You are going to have a helluva time Getting to the tranny mount.

Use the Hoist to pick up the car and slide some old wheels under it Junkyard style.
