just wondering about cam selection:

i have the Accel Super Ram setup with sportsman II iron heads mildly ported/polished (unfortunately theyve never been flow-tested), 58mm TB, etc. i am switching over to a solid roller setup this winter and i know the super ram setup works best with an agressive cam. im getting beefed up valvesprings, 1.6 rockers, etc. but was curious on cam specs as i dont want to 'over cam' yet i want to go as big as possible.

its gonna be a custom grind: what are some rough specs i should be looking at? im thinking around .550 lift @ .50 112 lsa, duration im not sure on though.

can anyone offer any advice/suggestions?

 

I dont know what the i/e ratio on your heads are, but if it is good I'd look at a single pattern with the SR. I am soon switching to a 224/224, .560 .560 (1.6rr), 110 lsa.
I have seen some big duration solid roller cams used with the SR with good results, Like 230ish or more.

(See above) In my opinion, they tend to be a little on the conservative side with their cam profile selections and recommendations.

 

i called the comp cams hotline already and the cam they recommended was VERY mild. it was a chick i was talkin to though, so....

i thought 110 lsa might be a little low...i guess i could borrow hook up a vacuum gauge, but can anyone tell me off the top of their head how much vacuum the SR plenum makes?
