Vette intake?

I am putting together a motor for an 86 vette, looking at either a miniram or a stealth ram. The cost is beginning to become an issue. I would like to know if anyone has knowledge or opinions on the performance of both. One other issue is hood clearance, will it fit under the vette hood? I will be running a set of AFR 195s and maybe a zz-9, although I would like a cam that is a little larger.

No.

You will either have to cut the hood and raise the mid-section some, or have the intake cut down. Personally I would rather cut the hood as holley designed that plenum volume for a reason and I would not want to screw with it.

Somebody on this board cut down the stealth ram to fit under a firebird hood. He had the fins milled off the top, and only had to cut down the runners by about 1/16". On the vette, you need almost an inch of extra space though, so it might not be that easy.

I guess I will be spending the money for the mini then. Any cam recommendations. I am looking for a mid 12 combo with AFR 195s, mini and full exhaust.
