cold start switch ?
what is a cold start switch and where is it at on the engine and does a 2.8L MPFI have this ??

I can only tell you what it is on my '87 L98. 
It is a switch that monitors coolant temp at startup. If the switch sees that coolant is less than 100* (F) it sprays a 5 second mist of fuel from the cold start injector into the intake manifold to aid in starting when cold.
On the TPI manifold it is located under the throttlebody on the front of the manifold a little towards the passenger side. It has the identical kind of lock clip on it that a fuel injector does.
