MAF with big HP...problem?

I am currently carburated, but am considering switching back to a FI setup, probably the holley stealth ram. I am planning on running a MAF setup from an 89 car because I can get it all for very, very cheap. The car should make at least 475hp on the motor. I know I am going to need a ton of PROM tuning, but was wonding if the MAF was a huge restriction or not? I know about porting it and removing the screens. Does anyone make an aftermarket MAF for our cars yet? I have been out of the FI game for a while, any help would be great...thanks!

No aftermarket MAF yet

You would be better off with a SD system, or you could install the MAF and then change to SD, there is a good article about it over at DIY PROM board.

But if you would like to stay MAF there is alot of info here on these board. Do a search for maxing out MAF and MAF WOT tuning........................

I'm going to stay MAF untill I get use to PROM buring then I'll probably go for SD or 749 ecm................
