Head selection

Trying to decide which route to take...I want to keep a LTR setup because this is a street car and I'm into the low end torque. At first I was thinking of the Vortec route, which would cost roughly 1200 with the intake manifold and all the other loose ends. For that kind of money, would I be better off buying some other type of heads? I know AFR's cost about that, but would they require any work? Would it be making power way above a TPI's range? Remember low torque is the goal. Maybe a set of moderately priced heads and some upgraded base/runners would do the trick?

If you want a lot of torque I'd recommend the Edelbrock RPM heads. They're cheap and have 400+ HP potential out of the box !

What size heads should I look for? And do I need straight or angled plugs?

I had it narrowed down to the vortec or edelbrock, so I asked a local performance engine builder. He said Dart iron eagle is the best for the money. Now I'm really confused
