SLP Cam

I have a SLP (step nose cam) in my L98. I am currently building a 406 & want to reuse this cam in my new motor. How do you go about making the new style cam work in the old style block?

I dont think you can. The later cams stick out from the block face, the old ones dont. Cant think of any easy way around that, and you cant use the retainer that the later cams use either.

Yes you can use the later stepped nosed roller cams in earlier engine blocks. I've used this particular retrofit kit from Lingenfelter in a few engine buildups for years without any problems:
