Will I see any gains with 21lb injectors?
Ive got a chance to get some 21lb corvette fuel injectors for my 91 formula 350 tpi. I was thinking about getting them and adding a tpis adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Ive done mods, chip, CAI, 3" catback, and plan on doing headers, new cats, and complete intake (either superram w/ base or tpis base and runners. Will these injectors help me or should I go to 24lb. I have the stock injectors on there so just changing to a the new type would and having them clean would help right?
Im looking at $200 for the injectors and the FP regulator. Worth it? Also what about the computer? ive got an ed wright fastchip for a 91 350 in there now.

In a word...NO.
Currently you have 22lb/hr injectors, you may see some gain with the AFPR and your current injectors at WOT.
You can get new Accel injectors for about $230.00.

I thought the stock injectors in the 91 L98 were 19lbs. So I should go with 24lb then?
What injectors are you refering to that cost $230? Will the computer be able to handle the 24lb ones?

If you have a 350 then you ALREADY have 22# injectors. I wouldn't add them until you upgrade your intake. By then you'll need a new chip and you can have it set up to handle the larger injectors. I would recommend the Accell 24#ers.
An AFPR is always a good tuning tool.

all right, thanks. I plan to go with 52mm TB, either Accel superram or aftermarket runners like SLP or TPIS, plus base. I have an Ed Wright Fastchip for a 91 350, not a custom one, I bought it when my chip and ECM were bad. Will I need to get a custom chip with the above intake plus the 24lb injectors. I guess I already know that it will be better, but I guess I am asking what will it run like without a new custom chip?
thanks again

Larry,
The 22lb/hr injectors can support upwards of 350 hp without stressing the fuelpump too much. For exact HP support vs FP PSI, do a search for "injector equations"..etc.
What we're saying is basically if there is nothing wrong with your current injectors, there is no need to replace or upgrade them to a larger injector.
If you decide to go with a larger injector, the PROM should be tuned for them to eliminate rich running engine.
What I'd suggest you do is first see if you need new injectors or need the current ones cleaned and matched.
Rich at www.cruzinperformance.com can clean, match your current one, or sell (least he used to carry ther Accels) new ones for a good price.
Rich is thirdgen.orgs "injector Guru" and I've never heard a bad word about him. I'm also a customer of his too.
