Is the MSD dist. worth the money?

I was looking at the Distributor MSD offers and it doesn't seem so trick. I mean it's got ball bearings and all, but the rest seems pretty plain. Will it give me better performance or HP. Or should I just stick with my stock one???

Nope. In that case, it's really more about reliability and durability than true performance. I'm not saying it won't help at all, but if you're looking for a performance boost, rather than a part upgrade to support another upgrade, then it's the wrong place to look. If you're looking for a part that can stand up to some hard use and high rpms without a hiccup, then you're there for the right reason.

I was going to get a new one too for my new motor, but came to the same conclusion! I just rebuilt mine with new parts since it only had 81k miles on it and when it goes out then i'll get a new one.

Horsepower no. Performance no. Having a quality dist as the MSD part in your motor when you are trying to keep the candles lit..priceless..
