Drivers side rear cast into upper bellhousing area. Look for 5.0 or 5.7. Can't go wrong.

i could be wrong but i believe the fuel line will enter the rails on the driver side on a 305 and they will enter the rails on the passenger side on a 350.

You're close, but for the wrong reasons. If the fuel lines come off the passenger side, it's gonna be a 350, but only because it's a Corvette motor. If they come down and to the driver's side, it could be either size.

jza-
my bad- i just assumed they (350's) were all the same. well good deal- one more part that is from a vette- on my engine in my s-10. just one more thing that makes my license plates make more sense (one more vette part that i didnt know i had- the tpi unit or at least the fuel rail) not that the fact that it comes from a vette makes it any better- they are all more or less the same. but i just like to come up with clever plates. in case anyone cares my plate reads- 1_SVETTE
a well balance mix of a vette and s-10

The '87 on up blocks have 5.0 or 5.7 displayed right behind the drivers side cylinder head.
The '86 and older have casting numbers which you will have to look up. If the heads are off, you could always just measure the bore

HEY!... if ur lookin for engines that are still in side the car, check the vin? yea, sometimes they get swapped in... but best bet is to go lookin for the vin... anyway.. .86 didnt have and 350 sold in birds or camaros... so there is no 350 in 86, unless its a vette, where its a 350 no matter what... so its all good... there u go
