Heads

I need a set of heads for a 350 with a superram intake. I want the motor to build power to 7000 RPM. Will Corvette port and polished heads do the job or should I get something like AFR heads from Edlebrock? How big of a cam should I use also? Looking to get heads and cam in two months. Any suggestions would be helpful...the search forum doesn't work.

Edelbrock doesn't make AFR heads, AFR does (Airflow Research). The AFR 190s are a popular choice.

If you want to rev to 7000 rpm, get rid of the SR. It'll work great to just over 6000 rpm, but you need an LT1 intake or MiniRam for 7000 rpm. And I recommend AFR's too. Maybe someone who shifts at 7000 can tell you if the 190's or 210's are better for that rpm?

BIG cam. Maybe solid roller, maybe not. Hydro roller might experience valve float, get a good valvetrain either way. Somewhere around a 239/239, decent lift like .575".

The 190's will die out around 6500, you will want to go with something bigger. I would get 210cc heads, and yes AFR are best out when it comes to flow without CNC. You can get lucky with other setups, but not likley.

Also, BuckeyeROC is right, that SR will not hold up to 7k. You will just spin the motor for now reason until shift. Look at the LT1 or MiniRam.

can i ask why you want to shift at 7000, just to say you do, i can't see why you would want to , unless you want to build a LS1 with out having one
