Stealth ram: will it fit on a 305?
Stealth ram: will it fit on a 305?
Big stupid question here...
I noticed the stealth ram at thunder racing, and I am just wondering if it would fit on my 91 305...
sorry if it's a really stupid or re-gurgitated question...

and thanks guys.
humm let see... any intake that will fit a 350 will fit a 305... The stealth ram, minni ram, LT1, and any aftermarket base with intake runners. They will all work, its just that the TPI set up on a 305 is good enuff for a stock 305. TPI was built for the 305, and was thrown on to the 350 cause the Vette team wanted one. Now, if you have heads, cam, exhaust, maybe bored and/or stroked. there is a stroker kit for the 305... not highly advised but go ahead if you want Its a good kit and there are a couple of people on here with it.. Anyway back to the intakes.. If you have major mods, an aftermarket intake would be a good idea. any of the ones i mentions up top will do fine. If you can get the HSR (holley steath ram) for cheap, get it and put it on top of the 305. you will see some gains, but i would do other stuff like heads cam and exhaust. Your gunna get flak for tryin to build your 305 up, but do what you want. Im building up my 305 to run with LT1's. Yea i plan on a 350 some time, but im building the car, so it can handle a wild 350. good luck man..

man, ill give u some intake advice before everyone comes on here and tells u to buy a 350 and starts bad mouthing 305's which is always the case...tpis has modified stock systems that run you more than is logical to spend...edelbrock makes a high flow (higher flow with porting) baseplate and runners...also, tpis makes the big mouth baseplate which costs much much more...accel makes a baseplate too which is expensive but ive heard good things about (nice casting, etc), then port your plenum, upgrade to a 52mm throttle body which isnt really necessary but if u got the money, go for it...id stay away from stealth ram, super ram, mini ram or any other of these tunnel ram systems, u want longer runners like the stock ones to benefit...
i personally am most likely getting the edelbrock base and runners and doing the other things i mentioned...as far as none intake related stuff, i plan on building a 300+ hp 305 with the mods on my website and poss the 335 stroker kit which is a favorite point among 305 bashers...the important thing is to do what makes ur car what u want...have fun

If you really want a new intake, buy some aftermarket runners and port your plenum and base. That's all you'll get with the 305 intake from accel, but it will cost you a lot less. It's widely known here that changing the intake is one of the last mods you should do, especially on an LB9.
As far as putting a huge crankshaft in your 305 so that it's got a huge stroke and a tiny bore, it's a pretty stupid idea compared to just replacing the entire engine. It will likely cost less to find a 350 and have it rebuilt than to rebuild your 305 with the stroker kit. In the end you have a larger, more powerful engine anyway. And you don't have to go through tons of problems of making the crank fit or worrying about shrouding issues.
