Dyno Question?!? Please
Was watching speed channel over the weekend and they dyno'd a '96 mustang GT stock, then after intake and exhaust went from like 170 to 204 or something. Made me wanna go on the dyno.
I see that Formul8 just got his car dyno'd and had 240 at the wheels on a bad run His sig says:
350, SLP exhaust,Edelbrock manifold,SLP CAI, AS&M runners & 52mm T/B,BMR LCR/PHR,Hotchkis STB, GW steering brace,ADS 24# injectors,AFPR,Hypertech airfoil,K&N,modified MAF,SLP headers,built 700R4 w/2500 10" converter,and more to come.....
Mine is 350, Lt1, Crane Powermax 2032 Cam, edelbrock headers, 3" catback, high flow cat, cold air intake, airfoil (oh boy!) 2100 stall converter, perf. built tranny, 3.42 posi rear, stock heads
where would you guess I'd be with the better intake, and cam.
He's running a 13.56 in the 1/4, How much closer to 12.99 would you guess I'd be.

As far as a 12.99, that is more dependant on traction, weather conditions, weight of the car and driving. Trap speed will the be the indicator on what power your car is making.
With a combo like yours, the only way to really see what your car is pulling at the rear wheels is to dyno it. There are also may variables with that too: state of tune, motor condition, choice of mods.
What I do is go to the dyno events my f-body club holds at area speed shops. We get about 10-20 cars and schedule a day with the shop, always saturdays. We have a few of them a year. That way, we can get two pulls for $60-65, instead of a single rate of $80-90.
I will be dynoing my car in a month of so after I get the rest of the SLP header install completed and new plugs,wires,cap/rotor, etc.
