prob with fan's

prob with fan's

I just bought a 88 iroc 305 tpi, I dont know much about how the TPI fan's work but i do know a lot about TBI car's and their fan's. any way, the fan's on my car never come on i turuned the air on and they still dont come on. But when i put the gm code key in to check a engine code one of the fan's come on what can i do to correct this

I'd just wire in a switch so you can turn them off and on when you want to.

Thank's guy's but i want them to work like they came form the factory. I dont want to wire them up to a manual switch

he means just don't run any wiring for the manual fan switches, do everything in that diagram aside from the manual switches

You need to diagnose the reason for them not working. Check for voltage at the motors. Check the CTS to make sure it works correctly, that is if it cannot send the proper signal to the ecm, then the fans may not get a signal to come on. Check the fan switch in the pass. side cylinder head between plugs 6 and 8. Check the relays, check the motors, check the wiring. There are many reasons why the fans won't come on, you need to play detective to figure out why. Good luck with you diagnosis.
