MAF Screens, can they be reattached?

I foolishly paid TPIS to remove my MAF screens and cut the heat sinks out about 4 years ago. My MAF sensor was brand new, now has only 1500-2000 miles on it. I just looked new MAF and they are just over $300.

Can I reattach the screens from another MAF? Am I wasting my time the heat sinks are cut off? (ie does removing the heat sink screw the calibration)

This has nothing to do with DIY PROM. Transferring to the correct forum.

You could put screens over the ends, but I'd just leave well enough alone. Having any problems?

The screens affects the MAF calbrations. When doing a custom prom, this makes it very difficult to properly tune a car in, because all of the MAF table are thrown all off.

Just stick a screen in the front and see how much your readings change. If it's noticable, keep it. Solder it. Glue it. Jb-weld it. It's not likely to fall off in any case. The heat sinks, to my knowledge, don't affect the readings.
