Valves knocking after HSR install ???
At least i think the are, i did the install myself, and the motor fired up perfectly afterwards (i did change the oil and the tranny fluid) during the install, i only had one valve cover off for just a few minuets to get the stock tpi off (it was just easier) Anyway what might be the possible causes for somthing like this, ive never had to deal with clacking valves before, im not quite sure what a valve lash is, but i hear about quite frequently on this board, can you guys help a beginer ? The pitch and frequency changes as i give it more throttle, if that helps.

I just read somthing about fuel injector making a clacking noise when the fuel pressure is turned up, im running about 48 psi, do you think that it's the injectors instead of the valves, i mean the motor ran great before the install no clacking, but the fuel pressure was alot lower too what are your thoughts ? The sound seems to come from all over the engine compartment, not just one area.......Do you think the injectors will be alright, i hear that its not a problem for them to tick that loud, i have the Accel 32#s....

it looks like you have a very high HP engine from your sig. With all those mods you have done, how can you not know what valve lash is? You or someone had to adjust the valves at one time when your AFR heads went on. Anyway, try putting your hand over the valve covers and see if you can feeling a ticking noise. It may be a valve or maybe even a rocker arm hitting the valve cover. Pull the cover and start it up and see whats there doing. It may make a small mess but it can be cleaned up. If you do do that, do it when the engine and oil are cold so you dont burn yourself. if it was an injector ticking then try unplugging 1 at a time and see if it stops. only have 1 unplugged at a time.
Injectors aren't that loud, and the sound they make wont change pitch. No way you could hear them from inside the car, either.
If you didn't touch the valves and the sound started immediately after the install, I'd rule them out. Got a stethescope?
