Vortec TPI manifold...question???
Is SPDC the only ones that make HITHERE manifold for the new vortec heads. HITHERE tried HITHERE search but it came back with so many threads that HITHERE got HITHERE headache looking through it all, and HITHERE still couldn't find HITHERE straight forward answer. Any help would be great, thanks.

I guess either now Edelbrock is selling it to other people or SDPC is.

Huh? Where'd you hear that?
I personally created the prototype by cutting, splicing, and welding an Edelbrock standard base to fit the Vortec heads. What a job that was!
Those ports were completely redesigned in Pro-Engineer CAD software and we had the molds made by Alpha Pattern for them as well as the outer body of the manifold. That thing was a completely new piece.
Anyway, I don't want to argue about it- it's not that important. In fact, maybe I shouldn't have opened my mouth in the fist place.

Well I own one and have spent hours and hours hogging it out. The ports are raised to meet vortec heads properly and remain at the raised height all the way through the intake.

I heard about it before edelbrock became involved with the project. they had a prototype built and were looking to have molds made from other sources. They were originaly trying to get their supplier of vortec cast iron carb manifolds to cast the new ones. They have that particular manifold for the circle track racers. it even has a fake gm part number on the manifold. I posted on this subject a few years ago about what was going to happen with the manifold. mater of fact i convinced the powers that be to make the manifold. But hey man it is really not worth arguing about. I say go with the stealthram and some AFR heads.

Anyway, it was a really good manifold. I left the company prior to it going into production. But later, one of my buddies over there told me that the thing made (I forget the exact number) something like 20 more hp than the standard TPI manifold. I would imagine much of that is attributable to the Vortec heads but the whole point was to allow the TPI guys to run the Vortec heads in the first place. I was actually arguing to them that we should make it for ourselves under our own name, but based on the sales figures of the Hi-Flo system, they didn't want to do it.
